Welcome to THE Emerald City. Please call if you need a place to stay this weekend. We, the people of the Pacific Northwest are one of the most progressive minded people on the globe. Enjoy our beautiful landscapes and our wonderfully quirky Northwestern people! Yes, we really do wear alot of fleece and socks with sandals, year round! =0)

Josh-
You are about to reach the 1/3rd way mark for your goal, and I am impressed!!!

This is a first for me to offer this to anyone!!!In your travels, should you find yourself in Salt Lake City area, please either text me on Facebook (Terri Lea Cox Smith)or on my yahoo account to let me know you are in town. I can email my home phone number to you. My husband and I will be glad to take you in for a few nights. Visit Antelope Island, Ogden's Wildlife Refuge, Hill Air Force Base Museum, the Great Salt Lake, the Salt Flats, American Fork Canyon (picnicking and camping) and visit the Timpanogas Cave. As a family, we enjoy camping in all of our nearby canyons. Of course, if you ski, there is Alta, The Canyons, and Snowbird. Bryce Canyon is about 5 hours drive and "The Arches" is about 7 hours drive south of here.

We have friends in different towns that may be willing to put you up for the night, too. :)

I see you like lemon curd, and waffles. When you get down to Portland, be SURE to hit the FLAVOURspot for a lemon curd Dutch Taco! The rest are bomb too, and they got a Groupon! http://flavourspot.com/menu/fremontMenu.html

Josh, I'll try to keep track of when you come to Portland. I am off work on the 9th and the 12th & 13th...I'm sure you'll love Portland enough to stay at least that long! I have an OMSI membership if you'd like to go, and I'd be happy to take you on a Food Cart crawl. I may also be able to get us free tickets for a Portland Walking Tour...I'm working on it.

I'm @ladygeek on Twitter, and you're already following me on Foursquare and Facebook. Can't wait to meet you!

I used to go to a convention in Minneapolis and was dragged by my friends to the MoA every single year. Like they thought it would have changed in the 11 months and 3 weeks since the last time they had been there. Repeat after me guys, "It is a mall, like any other. It is just a mall." Now, can we go get food at Khan's now? Outside the stupid mall?

Just proves the old adage. It's an ill wind that blows no good. - As the poet said, 'Only God can make a tree' -- probably because it's so hard to figure out how to get the bark on. - Woody Allen Born 1935
